Matt Moscona. Host, After Further Review: LSU’s red-zone offense has been brutal. That has to improve. I don’t think Marcel Reed takes the game over again. LSU wins a tight one with the help of the home crowd. LSU, 27-24.
Paul O’Neill, Video Producer, Off the Bench: LSU needs to come out fast after the slow start last week had them playing from behind all game. Establish the run and let Sam Leavitt settle into the pocket and get the passing game going early. If the Tigers defense can finally contain Marcel Reed, they should have no problem getting the victory. LSU, 30-21.
Matthew Musso, Audio Producer, After Further Review: This game comes down to each team’s pass rush. LSU’s front has been very disruptive through three games registering 14 sacks. Can the Tigers get home on Marcel Reed with just four? If they can consistently, that’s a great way to contain him and will free up Weeks and Dottery. This matchup should favor Blake Baker’s squad as Texas A&M is still breaking in four new starters on the offensive line. On the other hand, can LSU’s offensive line hold up in pass protection? Mike Elko’s group is off to a slow start rushing the passer this year, but they have plenty of talent on the edge. LSU has to keep Leavitt clean to hopefully allow him to settle in and take advantage of a secondary that has struggled with coverage busts and big plays. Keep an eye out for changes on the line as Lane Kiffin alluded to earlier in the week. LSU 34, Texas A&M 24.
Taylor Sharp, Video Producer, Off the Bench: Before we make a score prediction let’s look at what makes LSU better. Does the school have Yell Leaders? LSU-No. A&M- Yes. Does the school participate in midnight yell practice? LSU-No. A&M Yes. Are they a pretend military school? LSU-No. A&M-Yes. That should be enough right there, but I believe a Tiger could take a Collie, no problem. In all seriousness, LSU must shut down Marcel Reed. He’s been an average to below average QB against everyone else but has been Superman against the Tigers for two years. This defense has a different feel to it, and I think they will be able to stop the Aggies rushing attack. LSU 27, Texas A&M 20.
Alondra Villarreal, Audio Producer, Off the Bench: I trust LSU’s defense and the Tiger Stadium night game advantage enough to pick LSU, but after Ole Miss, I’m not trusting this offense to put somebody away until further notice. LSU, 27-21.
