Early 53-man roster projection: Offensive Tackles

The New Orleans Saints saw strong play from both of their young starting tackles in 2025 after investing highly to add a cornerstone player on both sides over the previous two NFL Drafts.

Those two players, Kelvin Banks Jr. and Taliese Fuaga, are set to headline the position for the foreseeable future. That puts the Saints in an advantageous position as they continue through their rebuild. Having two bookend tackles on rookie contracts with a fifth-year of cost control is a strong place to be from a roster building perspective.

The biggest question mark for New Orleans at this position is depth. The Saints traded to acquire backup talent during the preseason last year and feel good about some undrafted talent they were able to sign this offseason.

Offensive Tackles – 4 (26)

The top tackles are watched in stone for New Orleans and will be for some time. The real conversation here is which players provide insurance at the position.

Richards has the versatility to line up on either side of the offensive line and could likely slide in at guard as well in a pinch. Meanwhile, the team is very excited about the development opportunity that lies ahead with Herron.

New Orleans doled out quite the salary guarantee ($272,500) to get Herron to the Big Easy. He’s a raw prospect that’s only been playing football since his senior year of high school. But his durability (never missed a collegiate game), strength and athleticism are all unreachable traits that the Saints are looking to build upon.

New Orleans gets additional depth here with one of the guards we previously projected to make the roster, Dillon Radunz, who can also slide to the edge and line up at tackle if needed.
